THE STORY:

This unique design is the second of a series of art in a collection of products we call "The Mountains Are Calling" -John Muir. We aim to develop designs that will include many of the most iconic and dramatic mountains around the world.  Half Dome in Yosemite National Park which stands proudly at an elevation of 8,466' is not only one of the few most recognized mountains in the world, it's on the "Explore Me" list of nearly every outdoor lover I've ever known. Half Dome was featured on the A16 second catalog that came out in the early 70s. The Half Dome was also A16's name for the worlds first dome tent designed for backcountry use. A little known fact: San Diego Girl Scout Leader May "Bandi" Atherton created this first of its kind innovative tent in 1966 before turning over her idea a few years later to her good friends at A16 to be improved, manufactured and sold.
