This 3 3/4" round hard paper coaster is durable and beautifully printed, and it's the second in a series commemorating the many A16 logos over the years.  When Mic Mead began heading up the small and innovative company in 1970, he was anxious to put his own mark on the enterprise.

While doodling logo ideas on a notepad, he came up with this simple whimsical design. The "A" symbolized a mountain, an horizon and the notion of moving forward.  By just stating "A16", unlike the first logo, it didn't focus primarily on "Custom" backpacks, leaving product development for other gear wide open.  This version of the logo was used from 1972 to around 1976.
