THE STORY: This fun and intricately printed ornament features the Holiday version of the A16 logo that was utilized in the late 70s and throughout the 80s. It was made from a piece of log salvaged from one of the A16 shops shortly after the physical stores were closed. The hanger is a leather cord. It was hand made with care by John D. Mead who hopes it will hang on your tree and remind you of a trip or two that you made to A16 to do your holiday shopping back in the day. If you look closely, you can see Santa dashing around the corner of the cabin, which happens to be Mic Mead's office right smack dap in the middle of the old San Diego shop. We're darn certain that the office in its location on the 3rd floor was one of a kind. Fun Fact: The cabin has been rebuilt and currently sits in the backyard of a friend, JT Smith, who co-founded A16's Venture Crew.
This item has been repurposed and created from a custom shelving log unit rail once used in an A16 shop. Because of this, each ornament is unique and you should expect to find certain natural and other blemishes including splitting and other natural defects in the wood. If you're lucky, you may see small holes were a nail once rested. If only the log slice could talk. It would tell you about it's life in a forest in NW Montana, it's move to SoCal, and all the fun it had literally hanging out at A16 for many a year.
