The A16 logo used on the embroidered patch was hand drawn by Mic Mead and in use from 1972 – 1976. These were exciting times at A16 as we innovated and manufactured products in the dug out basement of the El Cajon store, and began to open multiple retail shops in San Diego and Los Angeles. Backpacking was ramping up in a major way, especially in SoCal.
